butterfly stitches
hi my son aged got his finger trapped in the door on sunday morning, he is very badly bruised and it was bleeding alot. as it hadnt stopped bleeding at 5pm i took him to the badger clinic. they put some butterfly stitches on and said it will stop bleeding now and should heel quite quick.
but its now tuesday and it hasnt stopped bleedin. it has slowed down but hasnt stopped. do u think he needs to be seen again or does it normally take longer to stop bleeding. my bs have never had these stiches before so i dont know how they work.
anyone any advice?
he isnt in any pain at all its just the bleeding that im a little concerned about

Is it bleeding all the time, or is the cut in an awkward place that reopens when he is bending his finger? If the latter, he may just need to imobilise the finger - e.g. strap it up a bit to stop him bending it.
How old is your son? could he be picking at it?

a badger clinic is an out of hours doctors, u take them there instead of a and e. it is right on the tip of his finger, he dont mess with it as he wont let anyone touch it. i have rang hs direct for a bit of advice but as usual there is a few hour wait for someone to ring back.
he is 3.
it isnt bleeding constantly but i am having to change the plaster 3 or 4 times a day still.
