Cot Mattress

My 3 Month old daughter is rapidly growing out of her moses basket and will soon be needing her cot. What kind of mattress is the best for her and is there any link between a childs mattress and SIDS?

tbh Id but a fairly cheap firm one but one that can be cleaned (not one of those perforated ones with the big holes). Chances are she will spill drinks, have overflowing nappies and all sorts on it over the years so best to get a cheaper one that you can replace.

The main guidelines re matresses are that you do have a new mattress for each new baby, the mattress must fit the bed snugly and not have gaps around the edges where a baby may be able to push face.
