yes, you can become pregnant with multiple foetuses!!!

I don't know if this counts as a side effect, but it does put the couple under enormous psychological stress as well as financial pressure. I know one couple who had a child by ivf, then decided not to try for a second one because the stress had been so much, they thought their marriage might not survive if they put themselves through it again. Also, during the treatment, the woman has to have hormons which can make her (I believe) tired, moody, irritable, as well as feeling bloated. Also the procedure to remove the ova from the woman is painful.
