Babies first teeth emerging
6 Answers
Hi all My baby's first two bottom central incisor teeth have finally emerged after months of sleepless nights, boughts of hysterics, heavy drooling, snotty nose and sore ears, so you can imagine that we are overjoyed. He actually slept from 10pm until 5.30am in his cot last night. Anyway, I was just wondering how long it'll take for them to sprout fully (so to speak)? as they are currently sharp lines in his gums and have been for about 3 days. Also, is it normal that they are not pure white, they seem to be a pale white, almost clear? We started brushing the day they came through and I do give him plenty of calcium. Thanks in advance for any replies, I may take a while responding, but I will respond.

Good to hear from you both. Glad all is well.
We're fine thanks Nat. Have had a hard few weeks though. Henry was ill with a viral infection that was at one point suspected meningitis so he was rushed to Hospital in an ambulance on the orders of the doctor. Then a few days later he fell off our bed (my fault, I turned my back for one second and he was off), thankfully he was fine then too.
How are your little ones and yourselves?

Emilia has had a tough few weeks bless her, she started nursery 3 weeks ago and got on fabulously, she was loving spending time with other babies and eating really well, then on her second week she began teething but also had a cough and cold, then that seemed to turn into sickness and diahorrea. Ultimately she didn't have any solid food for over a week and so I basically had to start weaning her all over again! She was better by the end of last week (although still teething) and was back at nursery this week and is eating well again now.... until the next time!
oh God, ive done that suspected menigitis stuff with matthew when he was abou 18 months old, its scary stuff!
Amelia is very well thanks, ive just started weaning and shes loving her food, will grab and eat anything but has a thing for garlic bread when she sees it. Im doing a mixture of puree and baby led weaning though her grandad giving her half a chocolate mini roll the other day was not a good idea!!!!
Both of mine have a cold at the moment and Amelia is due to go to see the paeds in 2 weeks for a second opinion on some lumps she has growing behind her ears but day to day everything is great.
I love this age!
