baby walker
Hi. I'm thinking about getting my 6 month old son a walker. Does anyone know which one is the best to get. We have new carpet which is quite thick and I'm worried the wheels won't work on it. Any advice please. Thanks.x

If you have thick carpet it may make it almost impossible for him to move it anyway.
What do you want it to do? there are many learning tables that will support baby upright in the same way or push along things if you are wanting to encourage walking.

Hi, we got my son a fantastic Chicco DJ walker (available at mothercare) which he just adored and would whizz around in it - so of course you end up chasing around too! If you have carpet throughout your house I would say a walker is a no-no as they are just too hard to use. You will quite possibly get someone tell you walkers aren't good for baby's development but my son was walking at 1 year so it did him no harm! Of course, as with ANY baby item you can't take your eyes off little one when they are using it (the reason walkers have a reputation as dangerous is due to careless parents not watching their kids especailly when near stairs/furniture) Hope this helps! x
I have a baby walker for my six month old and it is really hard to move it on carpet; she definitely would not be strong to do it, so last week I put her in the kitchen on the tiles and it is still hard to move it, like there are buffers there so stop her whizzing too fast or something, but it seems to stop her from moving atall. Still, she loves the feeling of being upright (she still doesn't have the hang of the door bouncer) and there is an activity dashboard that she loves bashing.
