Hi Guys,

any ideas of any father daughter activities, thing is me and my 7 yr old are very very close and somehow in the process she has slighty lost the bond with her dad??? we do all live together but she is alot better behavied for me and she is always with me, if im cooking in the kitchen she is there with me, where as when he cooks she is in the living room with me, and this happens all the time, i do make alot more effort to play with her, but this is easier for me as we are both girls and i play dolls and bratz with her, to be honest her dad wouldnt have a clue which is fair enough, but anyway i as much as i love our close ness, i feel like they need to bond a bit, they always had a close bond when she was younger but i think she has grown so close to me now that he is slightley left out, i need some ideas for fun things they can do, i am starting her swimming lessons, and im gonna get him to take her so they can go in the pool after for a bit, that can be there thing to do together, but can anyone think of anything else they can do that is just their thing??

cheers guys xx

Arts and crafts. I got my sons a blank canvass and some paints and they loved it. You go out for the afternoon and tell them what room you want a picture for (downstairs toilet!!) and leave them to it.
HI! we were in exactly the same position a few years back, and as i have a very strong bond with my father even now at 37, i was very concious of her not being so close. My husband stated taking her swimming and taught her how to swim which she loved. Another thing they did was to literally go for a walk round the block each night. My husband being a driver during the day just suggested he would like the walk and said that bedtime could be extended if she would like to join him. These little things have really worked, believe me sometimes i am now jealous! But I LOVE IT! Its come slowly but they have really made it happen. Good luck!
Walking is always good - exercise and a chance for a one-to-one chat.

Try cinema or bowling and a MacDonald's - always a great treat, for both sides.
I love going for walks with my dad or going to the beach or swimming we don't live together because him and my mum are divorced we both also go up to wales camping on my familys land thats always good.
Why dont u start by doing things as a 3 then you can slowly withdraw....something like baking bread, or making pizzas from scratch or even washing the car...and leave them to it. Just normal family tasks that either of you could do and then when it seems the norm for them to be spending time together they could go off to the woods on a nature hunt, go to the park, go swimming etc. Good luck and hope you all have great fun. x
