Hiya, I have lived in a few different areas of the UK and the standard childminding rate is between 2.50 and 3.00 an hour per child although many childminders do a reduced rate for additional sibs (like 1.75 an hour for them each).
Forgot to add that you can contact Social Services for a list of registerd childminders in your area. xxx
If it helps, nursery rate for a full time infant (07:30 - 18:00) would be 600 per month which would exclude special diets, nappies and sundries.
Our local nursery would charge 530/month for that.
I am not sure where the other respondents live, but in my area (bordering south west london/surrey) the going rate is 4.50 per hour for a childminder and about 1000 per month for a daycare nursery place, all not including nappies etc. They charge in full for holidays (Xmas/Easter) and bank holidays too.
You can check a national list of average prices. Go to http://www.ncma.org.uk/ Click on Q&A, then Parents, then How much does a registered childminder charge?

I live in west Yorkshire and for full time care for my son I pay 126p/w which is from 8am - 6pm.  Meals, Toys, Birthday/Xmas Parties included.  Just need to pay for Nappies etc on top.
