Should I tell?
I can't remember having nits when I was at school so didn't know what the score was regarding the little blighters.
On friday my 5yr old girl came home from playing at a friends house and I noticed she had nits 'Mmmmm lovely' I thought.
Luckily I had got quite a bit of Lycril cheap from the chemist that was closing down last year so I did the business over the weekend. Luckily it was just her and no one else in the family.
I have told the school as I think they put a note out to the parents to check heads but do you think I should tell the mother of the friend she went to play with?
I know that when her other friend had them her mum didn't tell me untill some time after the school sent out their letter.
I would like to know but they didn't originate from us, she got them from school.
I hope my burble makes sence!!

I think now that we should tell other parents not just to help prevent the spread, but also to change public opinion of this very normal problem. I had them myself from time to time - a very real occupational hazard!
"Didn't originate from us"
Why the defence? No reason for the stigma these days. Kids get them from each other mainly at school. My kids had them, I've had them TWICE, Just tell everyone, the more everyone knows, the more likely we'll get rid of them,
everyone should check with the heavy conditioner treatment every couple of weeks.
Don't worry, they're only insects and they can be killed.
