removing a father from your life
Im 27 and have not got on with my father since as far back as i can remember, he's seperated from my mother, but uses the fact that my life has turned out good, to boast about it being all down to him even tho he has never been there, he purposely goes out of his way to find me just to harass me and its starting to ruin my life, is there anyway i can divorce him (if thats right term to use) or have him removed of my birth cirtificate, so i can finally be disassociated with him, what are my options to just get rid of him?

I did aged 18, to annoy my dad (I know that sounds petty) and to prove to him that I was nothing to do with him. You could also change your phone number/email address, tell him you want no more contact and stick to it.
Look into getting a restraining order if he really is ruining your life, but they're not cheap and you may need to prove he's harrassing you.
Good luck, theres too much pressure on people to get along and stay together just because they're family, but I know only too well how poisonous these relationships can be, and what terrible effects they can have on a persons life. I haven't had any contact with my dads family for nearly 10 years (I'm 24) and it feels great! Esp. knowing they can't ruin my little girls life, like they tried to do to mine.

You could report every thing he does to the police for harassment. Tell your doctor his behaviour is stressing you out you might get some therapy, if the case is strong enough over a time. It could go to court. That might stop him.
If you don’t tell anyone, (I mean the police, and GP, citizens advise etc) then they can not help it stop.

I just wanted to say, that reading what you two have written has helped me.
my husband assulted me a year ago we used to agrue a lot. i left with our 3 month child. it might be important to have a father, but a bad father is not worth it.
it is so hard to make that choice with all the media stuff going on about how important a father is no matter what. your living proof that they are wrong.
Thanks.
