Hello, I am currently weaning my daughter and when at home, I take out a couple of ice cubes of frozen purees I have made from fresh, and let them defrost overnight. When ready for meal I heat in microwave and then let them cool to required temperature.

Im just wondering what the best thing to do is when we go out and was after some tips / advice / experience.

Many thanks

Hello Louise

When my son was younger I would use jars on occasion when out and about, he would be happy eating at room temp. Im sure you could defrost your purees as usual and have them heated for you in most places.

Also try mashed banana.

Good luck

Jars are great when out and about, in hurry etc and for a bit of variety. After tasting quite a few brands and flavours I'd recommend hipp organic - they're the tastiest in my opinion....baby seems to like them too - bonus! lol
Hiya. My daughter is 7 months old and I just give her some of what we're having when we're eating out! I take her dish and spoon and mash her a bit. Sunday lunch is always a winner, its easy to mix other bits with mashed potato. We just watch the salt content. I've found, for us anyway, that her food doesn't need to be pureed, just mashed. Of course it depends on how old your baby is. This works for us anyway.
Also, some places are happy to heat up some food for your baby, or at least bring some hot water to do it yourself.
Hope that helps.
I agree with K8, my son much preferred Hipp jars, not sure why but he would refuse Cow and Gate!
I bought a food flask from a camping shop. I pour boiling water in the flask to heat it up, heat the food and put it in the warmed up flask. The food's not piping hot but that has worked for me.
hi there, what i do is before i go out, i defrost then warm ice cube food in the microwave and heat it slightly warmer than if he was just about to have it. I put it in a thermal bag and go out, come meal time food is either perfect temp/ a bit cooler than normal and my littleun woofs it down!
