Trouble poo'ing on Loo
Morning, my 2.5 yr old grand-daughter has just become toilet trained, she will do a wee on the Loo but she poo's in her knickers, we had to take her to A and E yesterday as she held onto her poo for too long as the last one she did split her little botty and made it so sore to go, her tummy began to distend and she was in a great deal of pain, they have given her a fibre drink to put into her normal juice and she managed to go 3 times when we got home which made her feel a little better, but still the problem is how do we get her to poo on the Loo so she dosn't hold onto it, she has watched mummy go ( sorry lol ) so she knows you are meant to do it down the toilet but she just wont. Any suggestions please? Thank you

My 11 year old step son is just out of nappies (although he has serious learning difficulties). Wees were cracked a few months back. Poos took just a little longer. Just giving him time and space and not making an issue of "accidents" seemed to work.
I wouldn't worry just yet.

What's wrong with telling a child that soiling it's pants is dirty
It IS dirty
It's all part of teaching the child the difference between right and wrong as they grow up
Bringing kids up ain't all about 'softly softly' 'there there' approaches you know
Otherwise you end up with out of control brats like the ones you see on Supernanny tv programme

Confessions like that actually go a long way towards explaining why Joeluke is the way he is... What he describes was an instance of child abuse.... perhaps we should just acknowledge he is somewhat damaged and just ignore him when he steps over the line
So far as little one is concerned has she got a step or box in front of the seat so that she can plant her feet properly it was mentioned earlier but it might help as all the appropriate muscles can come into play and it might make it a bit more comfortable for her

Tamirra, please stop trying to be superwoman.....you can't make everything right at once and you may just burn out and be no good to anyone....carers need to care for themselves too. Are you sure you are not trying to get this little thing under control because you feel helpless in the face of the big thing...your daughter's illness... I shall probably be shot down in flames for this but I've seen something similar before ....
