Hello, i am concerned about my 14month little boy, for a week now he has had a cold and around the same time his back, chest and arms are covered in little bumps, not as rash as such but it feels like sandpaper and it appears to be itching him. Does anyone know what this could be? I am taking him to the doctors tomorrow, i havent been as yet as it was'nt that bas and i thought it might go away on it's own in a day or so.

my daughter once got a rash the same as you describe.  It started as a little raised patch then spread onto her body (not limbs) anyway the doctor said it was something called a stork rash and it would go as suddenly as it appeared and one day i woke up and it had gone!  If your concerned at all see doctor

my kids often get a rash when they're not well. Something to do with the infection "coming out"?

Our doctor said it's good that it comes out but to always do the tumbler test anyway, and to ring if worried.

It has always gone after a few days as they fbegin to feel better.

Also kids' sweat glands haven't matured have they? Maybe it's just the glands getting a bit blocked if he's had a temperature?

My baby gets this too - it's called a post viral rash, although technically speaking it can happen anytime baby has a cold or illness - not just after it's finished!
