Hi

I was just wondering whether any one has experienced this.. at around 6 weeks i had spotting for a couple of days and alot of pain - the pain has never gone away but luckily the bleed did. Now i am 12 weeks and i had a scan done at 11 weeks and 3 days and since then i have been spotting again bright red blood - seems to go and come but i am really worried - do you think it means anything?

Hi Beth,

Are you registered with a midwife? Have you had a scan yet?

Hi
Yes has a scan @ 11 weeks and 3 days and i wasnt told of any problems and yes i have a midwife. i also think i may have an infection down there - could that cause a bit of spotting?
lots of things can be the cause of spotting. I had spotting following sex and was told it was something to do with my cervix. I also know of women who have had spotting throughout their pregnancies and had healthy babies as well as those who sadly lost their babies.
Its impossible for anyone to say on here whats caused your spotting. Give your midwife a call or the early pregnancy unit at your hospital for advice and try not to be worried.
The fact that you had a good scan after some spotting is great though and I hope alls ok.
When you say you have an infection do you mean like thrush or cystitis? Cystitis if bad can cause blood in the urine which would also be fresh (bright red) blood.
hi! im 13 weeks pregnant and i had the same thing when i was 7 weeks. At the hospital thet said that everything ids fine and that it just happens to some women. If i was you i would go to the hospital and then you will know for sure
xx good luck
