my fiance doesn't want to breastfeed.however, once baby's born, would we have to supply our own formula milk, and bottles whilst in the hospital? i suggested to her to speak to her midwife, but she's impatient, and wants to know NOW! any advice?
I'll probably be told off for this but here goes!!
Word of advice - try to stick a few in your case along with the disposable teats. For the first 24 hours at home they are a gosend. Alternatively do as I did and convince the midwives to give you some.
i took bottles and pre-mixed milk cartons with me. The ward did have sterilising equipment for cold water sterilising so i could have used my own.
As it turns out though the ward also had vending machines with nappies, milk and disposable bottles for purchase so i didnt use mine.
Most hospitals arrange tours for pregnant women and these things should be discussed when taking the tour. You also get a chance to ask lots of questions.
the hospital will give you the milk while your in there cow and gate or sma, also when you leave put some in your bag for the first night of being at home i did and it was better than having to get up and make them take care x
i work in a hospital, and everything is provided, i should not be saying, but yes take what you bloody can, mifta's right, when everybodys knocking wanting to see the little cutie, and your knackered, the last thing you want to do is run about making bottles. ooops i better not get the sack ha ha , good luck x
