Unexpected miscarriage
Haven't been on here for a bit guys. I had a miscarriage last week and I didn't even know I was pregnant; I have always had irregular periods and what with moving house etc I didn't even realise I was late, but then one night last week I miscarried what I now know to be a 6/7 week pregnancy. Feel very odd - not sure what to do with myself and partner doesn't quite know how to react.

I take it you werent trying for a baby as you didnt know period was late. Just because you werent trying doesnt mean that an unexpected pregnancy wouldnt be welcomed by you and your fella so its understandable that you are confused as to how you should be feeling.
Men dont often know how to react when these things happen, it cant be easy for them as they dont have the same maternal instincts that women do. I would say just take things day by day, talk about whats on your mind and encourage him to do same when hes able.
From what youve said about him hes a caring and considerate guy and Im sure you will both find it easier to talk over time. xxx

Oh Pinkfizz I am so sorry. I did miss you this past week and looked through all sections everyday. What an awful shock for you and your partner. It is such an awful feeling of lose isnt it. I do feel for you. But I also believe these things happen for a purpose and that for what ever the reason it wasnt the right time. No matter how many weeks you was it is still a bereavment. You and your partner must talk about it and your feelings, please don't bottle it up. hope you are feeling a bit brighter each day. take care. all my love goes out to you. Brenda xx
Awww Pink ~ our lives are so parallel you wouldn't believe...
The same thing happened to me (a long time ago) and it was as if I were walking around in a state of confusion. A lot of people thought that as I hadn't planned to be pregnant and didn't even know I was, the miscarriage wouldn't affect me. Of course it did! however, it doesn't affect everyone and whatever you are feeling is *normal*.
The main thing to do is to rest up ~ grieve, take stock etc. Your body has gone through the mill so rest is important. The emotional side of things may take a little longer. If it doesn't take long, don't feel guilty. As I said, whateve you feel and how you deal with it is normal.
Take care, hun..thinking of you xxx
