Lexy1982 my friend has just had a baby. She also had a really bad kidney infection at 7 months. Doctors didn't seem at all worried and she has just had a healthy baby girl!
However I would advise still seeing your doctor as soon as possible if you haven't done so already.
I had one at 7 months, and had to go into hospital for antibiotics and monitoring as the infection can bring on early labour ~ actually the pain from the infection was so bad I thought I WAS in labour!
In any case, as the above reply says...best get it confirmed.
Forgot to add ~ it was pyelonephritis I had (severe urinary tract/kidney infection) and a website I visited states:
'In diabetic patients and pregnant women, as well as in people with spinal paralysis, follow-up should include a urine culture at the completion of antibiotic therapy to ensure that bacteria are no longer present in the urine.'
i had both water and kidney infections when i was pregnant when i got a bad kidney infection at 31 wks i was keep in hospital 4 a couple of days given antibotics through a drip and 2 steriod injections 2 mature the babies lungs as they thought i may go into prem labour. stopped in for 2 days was allowed home every thing was fine went on 2 have a heathly baby boy 3 wks early. don't want 2 scare you just wanted u 2 know that they is possabilies that it can be dangerous when pregnant. but i'm no docter so don't know for certain, can only go on own experience.
When I was pregnant, my daughter was laying on my uturous (know that is wrong but all these medical words are beyond me!!) and I was always having UTI. The dr's were putting me on med's (low dosage) and monituring me, also drinking plenty of fluids help. I went on to have a healthy baby. I still suffer from UTI occasionally
