(old books are a no - no, as they can be very dated with the medical side of things).
Hi Warpig
It's not a book, but for a really quick day to day guide, the BBC website has a pregnancy calendar where you put in your due date or date conceived and it tells you how big baby to be is etc and gives links to other relevant pages

Baby Picky is coming up for 5 months now and I used it everyday when I was pregnant and thought it was ace. Hope you find it useful
Love Picky x

Wow, thanks for the link Picky, just checked it out and its all rather scary, yikes! Its early days for me, but this will be my first child (will be 40 in October) and am bricking myself, although I am also very happy and excited. I think maybe because I am older I am thinking about things more rather than just accepting nature at its best.
No doubt I will be in this topic quite regularly from now on, just hope its one piglet and not a litter!!!!!
many thanks

congratulations warpig!
im always recommending the ivillage messageboards but I really do think they are a great source of help and info. There will be a board purely for mums due in your month as well as more specialised boards. http://www.ivillage.co.uk/pregnancyandbaby/boa rds/0,,,00.html
Your midwife will also give you the NHS pregnancy book which I found very good, it also gives you week by week reports on whats happeneing with baby.

Thanks Red but keep schtoom for now, early days!
One question though have done test and is positive but will wait a week and do another one just to be sure but when should I go to GP, I am thinking about 7-8 weeks, am apparently 5 week so far, but am so naive about this, am really excited but a little scared. Mrwarpig is walking around like the cat that has got the cream!!!

call your GP surgery and ask what their procedure is. Mine just said i had to fill in a form and wait for a booking in appt at 8 weeks or so. That was it. Do another test if you want but they dont do them at docs, they just seem to take your word for it
Of course youre a little scared, its perfectly natural believe me. Try to watch what you can and cant eat and take it easy for the first few weeks until you get further advice.
try the boards on ivillage, there will be mums of your age on there too, even first time mums.
will keep it quiet
