Calm down, calm down! My god-daughter is pregnant and only goes every month or so for her appointments, this is because she is 'low risk'. She does know someone who goes every week or so, but this is because they have complications. Have a word with your mid-wife next time you have an appointment with her (or your Doctor) who will advise you about ante-natal classes. Mine didn't start until I was over 30 weeks.
Your midwife will keep you right about what is available in your area. usually your appointments become more frequent as your pregnancy progresses and will be one a week for the last few weeks. Parentcraft classes where they give you info about labour and breastfeeding are usually run by the local midwifes and start a bit later as well.

Don't worry about not knowing anyone, making friends is really easy when you are pregnant as you will all have something in common. A good opener is always "how many weeks are you?"

Don't panic, i am sure that you are not missing out on anything - good luck!
do you see a midwife when you go to the hospital or GP surgery?

When i was expecting (only 2 years ago) i went to see midwife at around 8 weeks, then every 6/8 weeks whcih reduced to 4 weeks and then 2 and 1 weeks nearer the birth.

That is antenatal clinic, where you see midwife and have urine samples, blood pressure and position of baby checked.

Your midwife will tell you about antenatal classes and hospital viewings (if they run such a thing in your area)

aquanatal classes are usually run by the individual pool so get in contact directly with them if you want to do this sort of thing
where are you? i am intending to start Aquanatal classes too but worried I wont know anyone. I am in East London.

hello everyone!

Thankyou so much for all your comments!

I am a cardiff girlie im afraid! London might be a bit far for me and my growing belly!!

Sounds like im not missing anything then...They told me about parent craft classes last time i went to the midwife so maybe i should start up.....

They did put me down for shared doctor and midwife care to start but as everythings going ok i think im just midwife now......got to see her at 28 weeks now.......this is week 27 so i will grill her when i get the chance!

got lots of books on pregnancy at home so i think ive just been confusing myself!
