Why does the Lloyds Pharmacy advert for the half price TENS machine say it's unsuitable for expectant mothers? I thought they brought pain relief for women in labour?

I think that perhaps the manufacturers are worried that the electro-impulses may 'bring-on'labour...............:o)

Of course, once you are in the midst of labour anything, ANYTHING that takes away the pains has got to be a good thing.
because essintially its constantly shocking you with electricity, thats cant be good for teh baby surely|?
The TENS machines used during labour are different to the others,I think they have a different type of current. I know when looking to buy one they are usually in seperate categories.
eyebrows TENS machines are a good pain relief method recommended by midwives and many mums.

BFC perhaps they are just a different pulse or power or even havnt been licensed for use in labour.
apolagies, i was under the impression teh worked by using electric pulses....my bad
they are mild electrical pulses that are sent into muscles in the back. This causes your body to release endorphins and thus counteracts the pain of contractions.

They are only recommended during labour and not at all before and do not effect the baby in any way, unlike a good shot of drugs!
