Pregnant after Miscarriage
In August I had a miscarriage in my 8th week of pregnancy. On Saturday I had a very short, extremely light bleed but then stopped. My friend said this sounded like an implantation bleed and that I should take a test. I did one on the Monday (well two actually) and they were positive. we're over the moon but I am now very worried about this short bleed. I've had period pains too but no more bleeding. I feel as though I can't be optimistic at the moment and am just waiting for something bad to happen. We have a six year old son but didn't have any of these problems when I was pregnant with him. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Am I right to worry?

Also around this time I was having mild period pains, I assumed that it was going to be my period but, like you, I took a test and found it to be positive, now I am almost 17 weeks pregnant, I hope this is the case for you too, I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you X X
Hi Joey, Congratulations!
nothing anyone can say will stop you worrying about the 'what ifs'
BUT if its any consolation Ive had some bad pains this time around, was never this bad with first and yet bubs is fine and kicking in there.
I doubt that your GP will send you for an early scan but it might be worth asking.
Take comfort in the fact that you have a son so your body knows what its meant to do and can do it.
Take it easy, watch what you do and what you eat and drink. Take lots of fluids and your folic acid and then take each day as it comes.
Sending lots of baby glue xx

there are ways around it but youd need to lie and youd still worry as you got to 8 weeks. Plus you may then miss out on a clearer dating scan at 12 weeks.
I know women who fibbed and said they had pains and spotting to get an eary scan after a previous loss. Perosnally i couldnt lie and wouldnt want to tempt fate but then I have never been in such a worrying position as yours.
See what midwife suggests xx

I lied after a misscarriage to get an early scan. I said I was having pains, but they gave me an early scan and couldn't see anything as I was too early, then they tested my hcg levels every other day just to be sure. When I had a scan at 8 wks I was relived that everything was fine (i lost at 8 wks last time too) now I'n 29wks and soooo excited.
Good luck :)
Good luck :)
Congratulations JOEY!
I know its easier said than done, but try not to worry. Just look after yourself and take things easy. I also used to get period type pains, in fact I got them regulary for the first four months! I also went through a stage where I suddenly had no symptoms at all and thought it was over........then they came back with avengence! lol Im now 21 weeks.
If you have any problems or concerns call the midwife straight away, but Im sure you'll be just fine and you got us lot keeping it all crossed for you!
Congrats to Cwpsi too!
