Swollen Areola

Sorry - question about boobs but i asked my midwife and she wasn't very helpful. she said any changes in breasts during pregnancy aren't looked into and it went no further.

basically the areola (is that right?) - anyway, the dark skin around my nipple has been getting swollen recently. only the bottom half too for some weird reason. the skin has become thickened and swollen but no discomfort. is that normal?? it comes and goes. started on one, now both.

i dont know about swollen but they do change a lot during pregnancy and can do all sorts of things.

Mine were itching last week, absolute agony and i just wanted to scratch them!

They are getting ready to produce milk and i suppose some discomfort and chan ge is to be expected.

it's as if the skin was thicker - very weird, but like i said, it comes and goes and it's not all the way round. i thought it was the lace on my bra at first but not so sure anymore....
