My friend has come to me very worried. She tells me that she is convinced she is pregnant, she is on the pill but tends to take them irregularly. She had a late light period this month and has taken 3 tests all of which have been negative. She still has the symptoms, back ache, sore boobs, sickness/nausea but is due to start her next lot of pills.

She doesnt know what to do.... does she start her next pills and just keep telling her self the tests where correct or does she wait to start her next pack and do another test in a week or so. Will the Pills harm the baby if she is pregant?

Im afraid I have no answers to help her with. Please help.

I think if she reads the info leaflet supplied with the Pill, she will read somewhere

'if you suspect you are pregnant stop taking them and see your GP' or something to that effect

As for whether or not they will harm the baby? If she is worried they may, then she should stop taking them, find out if she is really pregnant, and if she isn't start her course again avoiding unprotected sex for the 7 days - or as per the instructions in her packet
excellent answer by OJ, i would say exactly the same.
I would agree too, but would also recommend that she look in to an alternative form of contraception if she cannot take the pill regularly.
I do know that there is a risk of feminising a male foetus with the pill called Dianette as it blocks the male hormones, thats why they use it to control acne.I don't know whether other brands of the pill do this but its better to be safe than sorry.Other than that I have no advice that hasn't already been given by ojread2.
