Dotty you seem to remember celebrity deaths very well so I thought I'll ask you?
Have you heard of Claude Franois, a french crooner?
What a horrible life he led. Survived an IRA bombing, survied a Chapmanesque celebrity shooting and then finally died electrocuting himself in the loo changing a light bulb!!!
hiya luv
No I can;t recall this guy but I do remember a Spanish singer who died not long before my first visit to Spain in 1975. he was a crooner but I have forgotton his name, it started with an S i think
Oooh I do I do! :O)
Some very cheesy songs, but he was very popular. a lot of them have been "remixed" and are still regularly played in clubs...My brother used to have a dance routine like him when he was six (a fact he doesn't like to be reminded of now! lol).
I seem to remember he got electrocuted when the hairdrier fell in his bath....Apart from that I'm not sure! He had two sons who became semi-famous I think.
Yes, I knew of him very well and had a number of his EP's, collected during a stay in Paris in the 1960's.
French music was very much in vogue and as well as the gorgeous Claude, there was the even more gorgeous Jacques Dutronc and Michel Polneroff - plus Johnny Halliday ....who is still reasonably tasty!
I remember him very well, as French singers were very much in vogue during the 1960's. Just found a couple of his EP's (remember them?) that I bought in Paris. He was lovely, but another French singer Jacques Dutronc was absolutely gorgeous!
My Way (Comme D'abitude ) was written by Claude Francois, but Paul Anka wrote the Englis lyrics.
