I am not going to use a pushchair at all for first few months, i'm going to get one of those slings that the baby lies sideways, then just use my sons buggy. I was given a travel system for my son but didnt really use it that much, except for the car seat, i found it too bulky and awkward.
i think newborns need to be close to mum (or dad) so slings are best and you can have them in it at home too.
Hi.

the original loola has great and not so great reviews. If she is getting the travel system then id suggest the carrycot attachment too for a newborn. There is a new loola (think its called the streety) which has a continuous handle rather than the 2 handles (which in my opinion always feel rickety when i have pushed a loola).

It is great as it faces both ways but it can be difficult to bump up pavements.

thanks red she wants the streety one with the cont handle. at the moment she wants all the new models and the best of everything. she will ahve a shock once baby is born and realises how much these things really cost.
my kids have always had the basics, we brought the mothercare travel system 3 years ago and my youngest is still using the pushchair bit. im not yet convinced that these new expensive ones do any better job than the basic ones
LOL Im a trainee pramoholic as you know so although i agree that a 3 year old pram is as good as a new one, i still love the lure of a shiney new pram

Question Author
i totally agree i have 3 prams at thwe momrnt but always go back to the old one. it has washable covers so once washed still looks new.
my sil also seen another pram for 499 pound she wants a crib which is 200 pound and as seen a cot for 400, to me this is really expensive.my cot was 100 pound, my 2 sons used it and now my nephew is using it. they are not in the crib long enough to justify spending 200 pound my sons were in it for 6 weeks. i know i sound really tight but i just think the simple designs are just as good.
Can't help re travel system ER, just wondered how everything going with your sis / neices and nephew? Hope everything ok xx
The nicest crib ive seen so far is 70 from mothercare. I spent 300 on 2 cots (i need one at my mums). But i dread to think what ive spent on prams lol

hi its going ok, since i picked them up the other night i havnt took them home. the 4 year old is struggling a bit she isnt sleeping very well and asks for her mommy but when i ask if she wants to go home she says no. it must be so hard for her, the older one understands more and does come and tell me when she feels sad. she has been a great help looking after the little ones, she sits and reads to them while im cooking. she has got so used to playing the mom role that she is finding it hard to be a child. there mom has not been in contact for a few days.
they are all off school today due to no heating so are all board as it has rained here for 3 days. i have posted another one looking for ideas for them so if you have any would be grateful
thanks for asking nat!
Question Author
70 for a crib is fine but i really dont see the point in spending a fortune when they are in them for such a short time.
i was reading about prams and travel systems a few weeks ago and which? did tests on the cheapest to the most expensive and said in fact ones that are about 70 are far better than the 500 ones
