Unplanned pregnancies
2 Answers
I am 34 and don't like to think of myself as old. I have a 10 year old son from my first marriage, who was planned ( I fell pregnant in the first month!). When he was 2 1/2 we tried again and a year later I was pregnant, but sadly had a misscarriage. Within 3 months of this I was pregnant again, but sadly this was ectopic (which nearly killed me when it ruptured). My husband left me within a year of this because he said it looked like I couldn't give him any more children. We divorced and I am now married to a wonderful man. We have been trying for a baby since August 2006. I had a misscarriage in October last year. Maybe it is just because of my situation, but does anyone else think that the younger you are the more likely you are to have unprotected sex without thinking of the long term consequences of your actions?

so i dont think its an age thing, more an attitude. Some dont think itd happen to them and some of those find out that contraception doesnt just decrease the risk of unwanted pregnancies.
Im sorry to here that you are still suffering losses, are you receiving any treatment or have they been investigated?

Hi Red. Putting it that way I think you are right, it seems to be more of an attitude thing. Ive been reading threads on here recently from young girls wanting to know if they could be pregnant and thats what got me thinking about it. My husband and I have both been tested at our local hospital's fertility clinic. Both our tests came back with no problems ( sperm count and mobility very good and my ovulation seems fine). I had one of my fallopian tubes removed with the ectopic pregnancy, so this may have a contributing factor. According to the consultant in January, on paper there seems to be no reason why I shouldn't be pregnant within 3 months as long as we have sex enough! We are "doing it" every 2 -3 days all month, not just during my most fertile time, as the consultant said this would be the best!
