Is it normal to bleed in pregnancy? I am 10 weeks today and am having fresh blood. Not too much though. I had a scan on Friday morning and everything was fine and we saw the heart beating. Apparently I have a haematoma. I ha a perfect pregnancy with my son who is nearly 6. i.e. I didn't bleed at all

its not normal, ie not all women bleed.

BUT thats not to say that a small amount of fresh blood means that there is a problem.

Call the hospital EPU (early pregnancy unit) for advice asap though, do not leave it.
this is not normal, you need to see your gp or go to a and e. they will probably do another scan. with my 1st pregnancy i had this a lot until 14weeks when i miscarried and with my 2nd prgnancy i had it 3 times before 12weeks but everything was fine so it could be ok but it could not, you need to be checked tho.
hope everything is ok for you tho x

Thanks, I called the hospital on Sunday morning and they said as long as it was just a little blood, it was related to my haematoma. I have the midwife on the 22nd. Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this
Hi Carrie,
