But one fact that seems to be known among fertility experts is that 'girl' sperm is slower but lasts longer and 'boy' sperm are faster but die sooner. Sooooo
What experts recommend (Robert Winston for one) for a girl is to calculate the date you ovulate and have sex about three days you ovulate. Important to not have sex after the three days until you have finished ovulating. This will 'increase' the chances of a girl (apparently).
Good luck though! ;0)

do you mean you want to conceive a girl? or were you calling us girls?
with each of my pregnancies i can pinpoint the time to 14 days after my last period started and having intercourse in the early hours of the morning. I think the time is relevent as i would then just fall asleep and not get up and go to toilet etc thus ensuring the sperm stayed where it was going to do best job :)
Its perfectly normal to be trying for a year and there be nothing wrong other than timing. But if you are stressing over it that wont be helping you.
Try and relax and not think of intercourse as being purely to make babies, enjoy being just husband and wife and the rest may well just come naturally.
good luck

All my 3 children were concieved in the same position (spoons). The ladies in our family tend to have a problem with what is known as a retroverted womb, the womb leans back away from the cervix and stops the sperm entering to fertilise the eggs. To be really blunt about it,I had to either get on all 4's or lie on my side with my partner behind me.Many doctors don't consider this when advising on fertility problems but sometimes all it takes is a change of sexual position.
Good luck apelila,I hope you get your wish soon.x

once my hubby had 'shot his load' (sorry to be graphic!) I used to lay on my back and tip my lower half right up putting my legs above my head! I stayed like that for several minutes so the sperm had plenty of chance to go where its supposed to instead of down my leg! I told a friend that too and it worked for her as well. But like others have said, don't just have sex for the purpose of baby making, relax and de stress it is often when you don't think about it it will happen.
