3 years ago i saw her on day after i came home, 3rd day, 5th day from birth (to do blood spot test) and then 7th and 10th day
last month i had baby aand saw midwife on 1st day after baby born, 5th for blood test, 10th day and they didnt discharge us until 13th day.
You can call them at any time during those weeks and they will visit but they dont check up as often now. Oh and they also dont do the Edinburgh test for PND anymore.

It will depend on the birth and how you and baby are afterwards. I had a quick and easy birth with no complications. I had 3 midwife visits over a period of a week. It was pretty much the same with my first baby 7 years ago. Over the following few months, the health visitor will come and see you. Mine is coming for the 3rd time next week when my baby is 16 weeks but I believe that is the last home visit til her check up when she will be a toddler.
I had a visit on the day after I was discharged, then day 5 for heel prick test and then day 8 when I was then passed to health visitors and I have had two visits from them to my home, (baby is now 6weeks) and have been to HV clinic to get baby weighed twice since then. I don't have any more visits scheduled, but I had 6week check with GP last week and jabs with nurse in 2weeks so they might schedule me in then.
