since pregnancy is on my mind constantly now I was just thinking about a few things and wondered if anyone had the answers!!
1 - if you are having pregnancy symptoms like sickness etc why wouldn't your hormones be strong enough for a test to work before your period is due?
2 - if you were having twins or more would that make the hormone in your wee stronger as you would be pregnant with 2 babies?

oh yes and just remembered something else!!
when looking at the weekly pregnancy guide on NHS direct I noticed that they class being 1 week pregnant as your period, 2 weeks as ovulation and the egg being fertilised and week 3 as implantation. I am confused about this because I do not have periods at all and theoretically speaking lets say one of my eggs was fertilised when I first started trying which was w/c 23rd June. That would make me now 3 weeks according to the guide when really it would be 9 days since I conceived. How does that work?
all Estimated due dates are taken from first day of last period until a 12 week scan determines the date from size of baby. They are always calculated with the 2 week point being the ovulation and so can change slightly depending on the length of your cycle

Sickness often doesnt start until about 4-7 weeks after the first day of last period either so there is little hormone to detect.

Some tests claim to be able to pick up the hormone 4 days before your period is due but they are only 50% accurate. The longer you leave it before testing the better as the hormone amounts double each day i think.

Twins can effect the amount of hormone and also morning sickness so yes it is possible to have a higher hormone but in early days i would think the difference would be very slight.

thank you for this answer red, and all your others! You almost always answer my questions no matter how silly they are and I do appreciate it. Thanks again.
your questions are far from silly and if we never ask we never find out do we?? :)

so youre playing the waiting game to do a test then are you?

are you plotting temps or anything to try and work out when you ovulate?

not yet but I think I may as well get some ovulation sticks. At least then I don't have to bother having sex when there's no point!!!!
what about for fun though!!?? lol
