I had a baby 5 1/2 weeks ago stopped bleeding after about 3 weeks and started again at aprox 5 weeks post natal. Is this still lochia or is it a period?

i would say that if you had already stopped bleeding then this will be your normal period. it will prob be heavier and not very nice for a mth r 2 but itll soon all be back to normal. have you thought about having a coil fitted, it can practically stop your periods and protects against pregnancy for 5 yrs. im on my second mirena coil now and love it.

if you had stopped bleeding and this loss is red and fresh blood then its your period i reckon.

It could well be a lot heavier, mine was, than usual but they do settle down again soon.
