there are alot!
ive got one of each and my bump shapes were same but with my boy i put weight on all over including my face, yet with my duaghter i looked same size from the back and my face thinned out.
Spotty with daughter no spots with son
Hair thin with daughter and i didnt bloom, with my son i had lovely skin and thick shiney hair
nipple colour, brown with boy, pink with girl
craved salty food with boy, sweet with girl

this is fun to read http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/naming/k nowingsexfolklore/ and having gone through them there are a lot that were right for my pregnancies.

Dont read too much into them though, its probably all coincidental.

ohhh funny you should should say that actually!! coz my first was a girl and i just had a tiny little bump, from the back you would never have known, where as my sister had a boy and had a right fat bum!! lol she put weight on all around her waste!!

hmmmm maybe some truth in that one lol
take it all with a pinch of salt, but its always fun to guess. All the silly old wives tales told me i was having a girl and yet i still didnt believe it when i gave birth and saw her. I was staring and staring, looking for boy bits lol

haha i only ask coz im only 13/14 weeks ( still waiting for dating scan!!) and i have a little girl and obviously a healthy baby whether girl or boy is most important, but we are secretly hoping for a boy! then we have one of each! well my partner has an elder daughter so this is baby number 3 for him!! he needs some male back up with all us girls in the house!! haha

Not an oldwives tale asuch, as apparently it's very accurate, but I was told that if the heartbeat is racing then it's likely a boy and if it is rythmic like horses hooves then it's a girl. When I was 36weeks I had to visit the hospital one evening for an emergency check up(all was ok and just me overdsoing it!) but midwife listened to baby's heartbeat and told me we'd be having a boy (even though we didn't want to find out), it didn't matter anyway as 6weeks later I gave birth to a little girl.

Going on from both your comments above though, I too looked normal from the bak but had a very neat bump at the front with my girl, I was spotty at the beginnning of the pregnancy but from week 12 my skin and hair were great.
just in response to the last answer its actually the faster heart rate for a girl and more normal slower rate for a boy, found that out with my daughter whos heart rate soared throughout but with my son his was more steady. also weirdly i ballooned with my daughter and piled weight around the sides etc went from wearing size 10 jeans to size 16 bythe time she was born but with my son it was size 12 from i got pregnant until the day he was born, belly was HUGE as he was 10lb 10ozs but i went to hospital wearing size 12 jeans the day he was born! bizarre
If the foetal heartbeat is consistently 140 bpm or above it's usually a girl - if it's a boy with that heart rate you're going to have your hands full!
one prediction I have never known to fail (but some of you will prove me wrong) but it only works for when you are expecting your FIRST child. Add up all the vowels in the fathers full name, and all the vowels in your full name (maiden name for those who are married) if the total number of vowels is an even number you are having a boy and if it is an odd number you will have a gir.
i.e.
David John Jones = 5
Anne Marie Smith = 6
total is eleven so first baby is a girl

get counting

i just did that for my first , which i obviously already know she is a girl coz she is 7!! but it worked!!
hahaha tho i doubt its real lol

If a girl your cravings are for sweet things and for a boy savoury.....supposedly.
I agree with the cravings theme, I have two daughters and one son and with both girls I craved sharp tasing fruity sweets like acid drops or sour sugary jelly things. With my son I didn't. My sister has 4 boys and one girl and only craved the sweet sharp taste once, when she had the girl. I looked less pregnant from behind having my son and still had a waist, than my daughters.
