Tingling feeling in upper right abdomen.
6 Answers
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have had a tingling, pins and needles type sensation across the skin on my upper abdomen (mostly on the right side) for a while now. Only relief I get is when lying down. It eventually goes numb for a while and is very annoying!! There is nothing to see on the skin itself but to touch I can barely feel it!! I'm at a midwife appointment next week so will ask her too.
Anyone any suggestions as to what it might be?

Turned into a horrible burning sensation like I was being scalded with hot water but the skin felt numb to the touch. When I saw my physio she said it was to do with the muscles stretching (and mine tore!) underneath the skin. I got a body bandage/corset thing for the muscles which I just slept in and it really helped. Maybe your GP/MW can give you something similar. I'm now 34 weeks and dont need it anymore.
I'm 31 weeks and have had exactly the same thing for about 2-3 months now. Is it like a patch of your skin has gone to sleep? Mine is under my right breast. It can also hurt when i lie down on that side or press on it. My sister in law is a midwife and has told me that it is nothing to worry about and its just the nerves stretching and breaking in your skin. She said it will go away as you go back to your normal size and the skin shrinks after the baby.
Def check with your midwife as well, to be on the safe side though :-)
