Braxton Hicks?
Hi people! I'm 36weeks 4days pregnant and i thought i was starting with early labour lastnight LOL
I was kept awake by period type pains and my stomach kept feeling very tight and uncomfy, was getting other weird pains too.
Ive been getting the period pains all morning but stomach hasnt been as tight.
Am i right in thinking ive been getting 'Braxton Hicks'?
I'm confused, i mean, how do know the diff between practice runs and the real thing?
Any advice on the matter would be much appreciated :)

Can't say if its true though as my BH were never painful and I just knew when it was the real thing! The MW didn't think it was the real thing and I was already 4cm dilated!!
You can always call your midwife at anytime if you're unsure about anything, its always better safe than sorry.
Hope you get a more peaceful night tonight! x

Well i saw my midwife today and mentioned it to her, she agreed that it is confusing when u get pain with your 'braxton hicks' as she told me some women do. Hence y some women end up going into hospital and its a false alarm.
So thats what it must have been as the pains did eventually go away and i aint had anymore since.

It certainly sounds like Braxton Hicks with normal labour the pains and contractions start coming closer together and more paibful, or so we were told. I have not ever had any type of contractions as I have had the luxury of ceaserian section with my pregnancy's so it is only what I learnt at parent craft classes and whilest I was nursing. Hope I helped.
