early scans?...

a couple of months ago i went for my first scan (12weeks) and found out i had miscarried early on, but had no signs of it. so what i'd like to know is, when i fall pregnat again, is it possible to get an early scan (before 12weeks)? i dont want to go through the same the same as last time.

Hi Ladypink, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I do know that most hospitals will give you an early scan if you have any risks or problems such as you have mentioned. It won't show much at that stage but will hopefully put your mind at rest. Make sure you see your gp as soon as you can and tell them you want an early scan and why.

Hi Ladypink, Its possible to have an internal scan early on I had one at 6 weeks because I had had 4 misscarriages and was on the list for fertility treatment. At 6 weeks all there was, was a sack and a blob but, blob had a heartbeat and when I went back at 9 weeks was baby shaped. So if your really worried next time, don't ask your doctor TELL him you want an early scan. Good Luck and let us know how you get on.

Sorry to hear this happened, you must have been gutted and I hope it happens for you again soon.

I had an early pregnancy scan at 7 weeks, because I have Fibroids, so you can request your GP sends you for one.

thankyou all, im so glad its possible. i know im going to have to nag my doctor to put me forward for an early scan, unfortunately for me she's pretty useless! fingers crossed it'll all work out next time. x
