Hi everyone, I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and when I had my last midwife check up, she felt the size of the baby through my tummy and said it felt like I was 2 weeks further on than I thought. I know this can't possibly be the case so does that mean the baby is going to be big? Or may it come 2 weeks earlier than thought? I don't know if it means anything when people say they are measuring big for their dates.

This is probably not very helpful but on my last pregnancy I was told that my twins were going to be big (for twins) and that I would need a section as it would be dangerous for the second one out because of their size. As I was having lots of scans and hospital appointments I believed everything they said. In the end they were a lot smaller than anyone thought and I feel that I might not have need the section after all (although it was obviously better to be safe than sorry).
Don't wory about it. At 28 weeks, my Mrs was told by the midwife that she was more like 25 weeks and it will be a small baby. The last scan showed baby had put on 2 lbs in 4 weeks. Don't go too much by size predictions.
Hiya, I wouldn't worry, babies do the weidest things while they are baking! So much can change from 24 weeks too, your half way thru' so plenty of time to balance out.
My story?........My son was always measuring 5 weeks + from the 1st time they measured my tummy he ended up comming 6 weeks early weighing a good 6lb9oz....I suppose if he'd have arrived on time he would have been a 9lber!
When I was pregnant with my daughter the same thing happened & I was told she would come early like My son....She ended up 6 days late after 4 sweeps and weighed a whoping 10lb9oz, a whole 4lb bigger than my son! The midwives are brilliant at their job, but nobody can predict what your baby will do!
You will be fine, good luck & keep us posted x
Same as above. I was told that my daughter didn't appear to be growing and had to be scanned every week, monitored and keep a daily kick chart.

I was led to believe that I'd be lucky if she was 3lb....She was 7lb 14oz.
i wouldnt read to much into it tigwig. on my first pregnancy i was told just from feeling my bump that i was going to have a small baby and he was born 8lb 15oz and then i was told the same with my second pregnancy at about 32 weeks that my girl was small, she sent me for a scan as she was so concerned and from the measurements they took she was already around 7lbs. she was born weighing 9lb 10oz. good luck with the pregnancy xxx
I'm with ummmm.......with 6 weeks to go the doctor (whom I'd never seen before) said another 10 weeks. I just went home and cried. She arrived on her exact due date weighing 7lbs 7ozs.......no problems.
You cannot tell by palpation of the abdomen the pregnancy dates within 2 weeks.
i would'nt worry about it. my doctor scared the wits out of me by saying i looked to small at around 30 weeks with my first.

i ended up going for a scan and they said there was nothing to worry about but you still worry. my daughter was 8lb 8oz, so much for a small baby

my friend just had a baby and she was told to expect an 9 pounder or heavier. her daughter was 7lb 13oz
