Right before redcrx gets excited this is not me whos doing any test its my mate. Basically about 2 weeks ago she did not just one but 9 tests and all came out positive. She then had doc last Friday and he did a test but it was only a very faint line so he said they cant be sure she is pregnant and to come back wednesday. Well she went back yesterday and again a very faint line. They have done a blood test and she will get results next week. Whats chances of her having miscarried as if she had then surely there wouldnt still be a very faint line.

She would know if she miscarried...surely. Bleeding being one of the indications.
oh i did get excited too!

your friend isnt going to know either way until blood results come back really, they will need to take 2 samples a few days apart and see if the HCG levels have increased. If the decrease then sadly it shows a miscarriage.

exactly!! But docs are not sure if she is pregnant???? Weird as she isnt bleeding, done all these tests and yet he still wants to do more.
Question Author
yes the same blood test my mate had when she bled a little early on. But my mate hasnt bled at all. Can there be a way she has miscarried and not bled yet?
redcrx...over to you my love.............I daren't answer. LOL
Strange. I presumed you always bled when miscarrying.
I would say she is pregnant after so many positive tests, a faint line is still positive, there is still HCG detected which is a pregnancy hormone.
Question Author
why not sqad? I didnt just ask for reds opinion. But she is good :-)
Question Author
yes cazzz, this is what I;m finding strange, from what I;ve heard most docs dont do a test and just register you. So if they are still getting a faint line why are they giving her all blood test??
4get...red is not good, she is excellent.

I always get into trouble. LOL
Because Red gives better answers on this subject than Sqad does. He's also a bit wary of women in pregnancy...

Does he know you two are sisters?
My doctor didn't test me with any of mine. Just took my word for it.
Question Author
yes ummmm thats what I thought most docs do
When my friend did a test at home that was positive she wanted to doctor to do one too and he wouldn't do it.
here is a link to all different types of tests, they mention false positives only if your friend is taking drugs that would contain hcg

a bleed does not always follow miscarriage. I know a few women who have turned up to their 12 weeks scans, only o be told that the baby died at 8 weeks or so, must be heartbreaking. Theyve then had to wait for body to lose or to have a D&C.
4get, all your friend can do is wait for the results of blood tests. But a faint line doesnt necessary spell bad news.
rinkins, my gp never even saw me. i was told to fill in form in reception and wait for midwife to call arount 8-10 weeks
Question Author
thats quite interesting cazzz
made me feel faint when I saw one.....
Question Author
but if the baby had died inside them and was still in them wouldnt that mean that there would still be pregnancy hormone red?
