Pregnancy Test at doctors for 1st time please

What test is likely to be carried out at the doctors on first visit to say im pregnant? Will the gp be able to confirm how far gone i am? Will i have to have a blood test?. Sorry nervous thanks

If you have a positive home test they usually go by that. If not it will be a urine test.

How far gone are you....they will ask you the date of your last period. If you don't know you'll find out at the 12 week (ish) scan...
I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation for this but....your profile shows you as male and I recall you referring to a daughter too.
most doctors wont even want to see you, its a waste of time. They will accept your own test and will usually just ask you to complete a form and then midwife would call you at about 8-10 weeks (from first day of last period)
At my surgery you do not even have to see the doctor, just book an appointment with the midwife who will see you at the clinic to find out when your last period was, then she will ring nearer to 10 weeks to visit you at home for your booking appointment...
