Trying to follow my own advice

which i may have given to others (not only AB'ers)
17yr old has moved out, fine, I know where he is, safe and sound.
My main question is, he has moved out, so what gives him the right to walk back in here as if it's the end of the school-day/work-day. Part of me wants to say to him, you don't live here, so you ring the bell, part of me wants him to feel he can come in when he likes.
My OH and I give him 3-6 months before he comes back home.

However at some stage she was back and I cant remember exactly when. She is a fabulous adult. teenagers are a pain, but they are still part of you, and that lasts forever. You wont be able to turn him away I think, whenever it happens.
I'd never refuse him the freedom to come in.
I'd prefer him to come back home. We have told him he's always welcome and can come back at any time.
Sometimes it's just nice to be able to put this 'out there' and not get clogged down with my thoughts and feelings possibly upsetting dad and brother. Thank you x

If he was 25 silk, then I'd probably be kicking him out :D
When he comes home happy and bouncing like he used too, then I'd know he was fine. As it is, he just does the usual teenage flumping on the couch and grunting. Normal I know, I know.
Should I dismantle his bed? Maybe shock him into realising, but it would shock me into realising too.....
Can't have it both ways alba, get a grip. See I even talk to myself on here.

Come to think of it, I was working across the other side of the country when I was 17. Came home for my days off (OK Glasgow to Edinburgh isn't exactly the other side of the country!)
I still had my front door key, twas just the type of lock,
Between you and silk you have both cheered me up absolutely no end. Thank you both xx
