You just have to know a few details like name and date of birth and perhaps mother's name and place of birth. I take it you do not want him to have it. Is there any reason why he wants a copy or is he winding you up?

Yes anyone can get copies of birth certiicates that is how fraudsters set up false identities, once they have the birth certificate they go on to get passports etc.

we was together 6 years and he was very violent so after 3 year of goin through court as he was goin for access i agreed to a contact centre then after months of that he got unsupervised visits on a sat, now hes naggin me for birth certificates for my 2 kids hes on my sons but hes not on my daughters i cant think of a reason why he would want there birth certificates either to get there passports which i am in the process of gettin or to get granted priority for a bigger property from the council so he can lie and say he has them overnight does anyone know of any other reason he could want them? he maybe just doin it to wind me up he normally does things to try wind me p thats the type of person he is!

Given that anyone can get the cert and he's not on it, how does this get him a passport for the child? I suspect he's doing it to upset you. Does he ever see little or pay any support. If he has no proof of fatherhood I can't see the council taking much notice and not sure that the passport office would issue a passport, otherwise anyone could get a passport for any child.....
