I found it to be a very odd sensation and did give me something other than the contractions to focus on, however I can't say that it helped me as my labour was not long enough (just over 3 hours). I would say give it a try if you have a unit available, and good luck with baby no. 2
I used one for when I was in labour with my 2nd child, 4 years ago. Sat at home, playing on Playstation with the family whilst the Tens Machine was attached - I absolutely loved the sensation. It was so successful for me for removing pain that I very nearly ended up having my daughter at home because I wasn't particularly aware of how far into the labour I was. She was born within 30 mins - so for me it was extremely successful.
