My daughter is desperate to go see Katy Perry but it starts at 7.30pm on school night and I have no idea when it finishes. We would have to get seats as under 14's are not allowed to stand. As I have left it so late they are extortionately priced so hoping to get them cheap last min unless definitely wont be going. My OH says shes too young but I'm not really sure that it will do her that much harm to have 1 late night as a one off. What do others think?
I took my little lad who was five at the time to see JLS last year, which was also on a school night, he absolutely loved it. We got back about midnight and he was up for school the next morning fine. I did mention to the teachers that we had, had a late night so he might be a bit tired during the day but he was fine. I don't think one late night can do much harm apart from being a bit tired and grumpy the next day.
I'd take her if it's not too far from home after it finishes - but I fear that you idea that "cheap last minute" will bring the prices down. More likely that they will be more! I don't know where you live but the O2 tickets in London are £35 at the moment on Ticketmaster (and I wouldn't buy from any other site), which is pretty cheap for a headline tour.
well personally I would say she was too young, of course thats only my opinion, she will be likely to make it to bed by midnight hopefully, for a 7 year old she is going to be knackered the next day which will affect her work and like someone else has mentioned katy perry can be quite risque.
she has plenty of time to go to concerts when she is a bit older.
Thanks for the answers guys. I'm still a bit unsure but the whole thing depends on ticket prices anyway. I know Katy Perry is a bit too sexy at times lol but I dont think children at this age actually notice it!
Tigwig, there's bound to be a DVD of the live show - couldn't you buy her that instead? If it's going to be raunchy, the audience might also be - which wouldn't be the right thing for a 7 year old?
surely if your husband dosen't want her to go, she shouldn't go? How would you feel if there was something he wanted her to do and you didn't want her to do it, yet he went and did it anyway? KP is NOT suitable for 7 y.o. in my opinion - she is far too sexualized
Yes, I think she is too young and Katy Perry is too adult for her anyway. If you are going to go against our worthy advice then take ear plugs as such things can cause hearing loss. I have got tinnitus but do not know where it came from and would not wish that on anyone.
You have asked us our advice and now you must act on it.
