If money is tight then why not get most of your stuff from a car boot sale or from a NCT sale:

Second hand items for babies are usually in very good condition as they grow out of them so quickly. Cheap too!!

Congratulations! I can see both sides actually - you are excited and want to buy things, but also dont want to tempt fate by buying early. I had all my stuff bought at 7 months, in newborn size, then went in to labour at 34 weeks and nothing I had bought fitted my premature baby. Hubby had a mad rush to shops to buy teeny teeny clothes and nappies!!
Congratulations PiNKNiNJ :o)
I can understand Bednobs advice too. I left it all till quite late. I must have been around 30 weeks when I started getting stuff.
Also to add to Andrews list I would get some sleeping bags/growbags. Even from when he was just a few weeks old, Little Tiggs somehow managed to push his blanket off in the night so these sleeping bags are a great way to keep babies covered in the middle of the night.
I know what you mean Diddlydo but some women find breastfeeding difficult and painful. I bought a steriliser and bottles even though I was adamant I wanted to breastfeed. I found it very difficult at first and mostly expressed. It took 4 months before I could breastfeed properly.

I'm quite superstitious so I ordered the big things (cot and pram) but didn't get them delivered until after the first was born. Lots of the stuff they say to get in the magazines you don't need. Anything you do buy like bottles, sterilizes, etc don't actually open them in case ou don't use them because you decide/stick sith breastfeeding, etc - you can either take them back or put them on EBay (I bought bottles and a steriliser on thing 1 and thing 2 as I didn't think I could manage to breastfeed two babies but I did so I sold the stuff on eBay - got more for the steriliser than I paid for it.) Good luck, x
You'll need: vests, blankets (I absolutely love the Gingerbread one from Mamas and Papas), sleepsuits (the ones which have poppers straight down the middle are easiest), moses basket/cot, sheets for the moses basket/cot, sleeping bag, dummies (just incase), baby bath (I prefer the seat things you can put inside a bath), plenty of muslims, bibs, nappies (I don't see the harm in buying these now, you'll need loads of these), bottles?, changing mat, baby monitors, baby bouncer, baby swing (I would buy one of these if I had a baby again), thermometer (spend a bit more and get a decent one).
All I can think of for now lol. I bought a few cream babygros after my 12 week scan then after I found out I was having a girl, I did buy things then. It's up to you how much you feel comfortable buying now. All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.
