Mumma dead
daffy, so lucky to not be part of your family. Politeness costs nothing.
i received two bunches of flowers and some choccies from a shop in st ives + a card from daughter no.2 and she came to see me last week. i'm delighted. i know money is tight and the effort means a lot to me.

i love being given flowers. one of the very nicest presents you can be given. imo.
Himself took them all to town (he has never done this before and went straight for a ciggie on his return, muttering about how stressful it had been). Got three bunches of flowers (that they paid for out of their own money) and a new top. Also got Sunday lunch shopped for, cooked AND washed up by himself with mint choc chip Vienetta for dessert (chosen bu the little people). Boy #2 also gave me a card he had made, part of what he had written was '... You are the nicest mum, you look after us like god looks after us ...' (bit worried about his current (slight) god obsessions.
Some Mum has to give birth to the future Arch-Bishop of Canterburt (as Gromit called it), sherrard....
Question Author
Sherrard you deserve more
Is there much money in that DT (I am hoping that they will look after me when I am old)?
^^^ really?

I think sherrs day sounds lovely?

No offence towards sherr shes a great mum from what i read and deserves alot...but i think her day sounds lovely x
well I would think ABC pays reasonably well, the chain up is pretty bad though, the perks being parishoner cakes and veggies, and cheap port or sherry at Christmas.
I agree on tinks comment, that's a bit harsh and too personal, bella, where do your "sour grapes" about Mum's Day come from?
Bella - it was lovely. They all kept asking me if I had had a nice day and the card from the boy was lovely (I am not one for stuff - didn't even have a vase so the flowers are in a big jug). I was impressed with the effort himself put into the day too (he has never taken them all anywhere on his own) - the only downside was I had the house to myself for just over a hour and didn't know what to do with myself.
Question Author
Thats great
sher - that sounds a fablous day.
It was nice - just gone into the room the kids use and himself has even tided up the DVD mountain (I am almost in shock).

Sorry Bella, very rude of me, what did you do/get (if appropriate)?
Question Author
Lost my mum sometime ago, meal cooked for me and vouchers of my choice
sorry to hear the loss of your mum, bella - mine can't remember her lunch or her cards from this am...Alzheimers. Glad to hear you got a meal (good?) and vouchers - at least yours recognised you as there are many Mums out there without the love or recognition this evening.....
Like you said bella each to their own...i try to avoid vouchers cos i think theyre a tad thoughtless....but again i couldnt go pick my mum a top or something like sherr got. Other occasions my mum usually drops massive hintsnor asks outright for what she wants......and i really dont mind that :0) xx

Either way i hope all mums or daughters had a lovely day with their loved ones or with fond memories of the mummys or daughters who they couldnt be with xxx
