How do I stop my boys doing this? If I get up in the middle of the night for a wee myself (or first thing in the morning) and sit in their widdle one more time, I'll just complain about it some more and blindly do the same thing cleary eyed a few days later.... but seriously, it makes me want to cry!!! and dettol my arse.

Gravity Mamyalynne, gravity!
So much more difficult sat down, and that cold seat!! easier and quicker stood up!!

And I lift the lid!!
Mamya, I think the problems arise when men and women interpret "success" differently ...
My wife and I used to do the cleaning in our local community centre , we kept the Loo's spotless. Nevertheless EVERY morning we found pee all over the LADIES loo seats but never any on the gents. ! We talked to other cleaners and they all said the same '' Ladies loos are allways the worst to clean''
The penis did not evolve for accuracy when peeing, perhaps small boys need to know that aim can be improved by pulling the foreskin back to get a tidier jet.
It's no fun taking a pee in the pub urinals anymore.

Every wannabe fireman flushing those cigarette butts down the drain before you ran out of pee
On the other point I have heard it is impossible for a man to fully empty his bladder while seated. We HAVE to stand.
Strangest thing I've ever seen regarding peeing, Royal Ascot a few years back standing having a pee in the gents and a woman came in hitched her dress up and backed onto one of the urinals and started peeing.....classy or what?
Since we got the bathrooms and toilet redone the rule in this house is that everyone sits down to pee!!

Boys are 12 and 11 and the OH is considerably older. It was definitely the boys that were the culprits as our loo was pretty unscathed, but as someone said, its not just the toilet seat, it dribbled down the sides of the pan and onto the floor and under the flooring or onto the walls and ruins the skirting boards etc.

New rules working pretty well :)

I imposed a 1 day "screen time" ban any time anyone was caught standing up or if I found wee on the seat then they both got a ban.
Tell them you wiped their toothbrush in it!!! After they use it..
It must be unusual, neither Mr LL or my son has ever widdled on the toilet seat or around the loo. It really isn't on - blokes should just take more care!!
Since I posted on this thread about the wet toilet seat it hasn't happened since.

Goodsoulette can the boys reach over the loo to pee without dribbles. My neice has a small step stool for her youngest to stand on.
Not true Eddie. blokes who are unable to stand to pee because of injury or disability can still achieve a complete empty.
It's the reason why women whinge when we leave the toilet seat up

We lift the seat so there's no danger of peeing on it

Whats worse ladies, walking into the toilet to find the seat up or finding pee all over the seat?

Exactly.
get them to wee in the bath instead :)
