Fair's Fair

My mother wants to give us a bit of money for Christmas, there are 4 of us in varying degrees of financial circumstances. Some of us have partners/children and some of us haven't, some own our homes and others don't. I'm not talking loads of money here, but last time she did this there were arguments, how do you think she should do this fairly?

If they argued about it they don't deserve any more in my opinion - she should spend it on herself and give each of them a mince pie.

what so thge one with 3 kids expected more because he has more kids?
unbelievable
the gift is for them, not for the kids ... its a treat, no meant as a donation towards upkeep of their family
she should do it ansolutely fairly and equal.
my dad once said about his will, that my bro gets more because hes the oldest ... and my sister gets more because shes the baby ...
theres only 3 of us! ... so basically what he was saying is i get the least of us all.
i had to actually point that out before he realised ... (he came from a family of 10)
