Two young men,
One travels an 80 mile round trip to work long hard hours.
The other lies in bed all day on benefits and wishes to stay this way.
After both have paid all bills the one who works is the richest.

The mug is the layabout. The worker has pride and responsibility. He interacts at work with his colleagues which is a form of a social life. He contributes in all aspects of his life and also has an opportunity to better himself.

It's called pride! £3 up or down, I'd continue to work the hours I do. Nothing like earning your pennies!

Sorry I had to leave my P.C after I wrote that.
I wanted to give you both *Best answer*.

The layabout can not be shamed and will remain a layabout as he can fail the interviews that he is sent for.

The worker has just landed a job which is now only a 10 mile round trip so the £3 is now £80, and has been told there's great opportunities to work up the ladder, which He will do.

So a year at £3 was worth it.

Thank you for your replies.
