Passed Driving Test

Hi , has anyone got any fun /easy ideas what I can make or buy my son for passing his driving test, he is into computers if that's any help.( He is 18) Looking forward to seeing if that inspires anyone , thanks in advance...

A second hand car that has passed it's MOT - it may get him away from the computers

A car is the only gift he will appreciate right now, that or nothing to be honest. And if he has a car and the insurance then he probably doesn't want for much else!

When did we start rewarding our kids for passing their driving tests?

My son has his test soon and if he passes we'll probably go out for dinner.

Anne...I've spent most of my life rewarding my children for their achievements. Just so you know....18 is not a child!

Yes....daddy has agreed to buy first car but that's not a fun/easy idea, imo.

Ummmm, "When did we start rewarding our kids for passing their driving tests?" Shortly after we started to hire stretch-limos to celebrate their passing of grade 2, or whatever you have over there:) Anyway, mumscuppa, I bet your son is happy.

He has a full time job way above minimum wage. I don't think he expects presents anymore. Dad did say he'd pay X amount towards a car but the 'child' has to pay his own insurance etc.. He's cool with that.

And a blown up condom dangling in the breeze attached to the radio aerial; and a nodding dog in the back window; and a pine-scented thingy hanging off the cigarette lighter; and a knob attached to the steering-wheel so you could really wheel around them corners...Oh! great fun:)

And a little black box so they have to look cool going at 20 mph :-)

You can get them installed in cars and they record everything. Speed, how often they brake, how often they go on the motorway...stuff like that. Helps bring insurance down for young drivers if they drive sensibly.

Mum, please do not take this the wrong way! a book on advice not to be influenced by his mates not to go tear @rsing, it will cost him a lot of money to get lessons, the day of the test he will be high as a kite, the day he passes his test is the day he starts driving then experienced starts, his so called mates can & in some ways influence you son to speed, it's up to him to use his common Sense & say to them ( If he's got the Bottle) If you don't like my driving, get out, It takes 10Mins in a court to loose what it has taken Months to archive. I was bought a card that was written to my mums car that said "Sorry to see you go". I don't think she'd of done anything else if she hadn't given me the car. I'd probably suggest helping with his insurance costs or buy him a nice car jack. The ones you get that fits inside the spare wheel are horrible. Or maybe buy him RAC (or other companies obviously, but we've always used RAC) cover - it's going to be valuable to him if he is driving an old vehicle.

TWR....I think you underestimate our youngsters.

I think the day of boy racers is slowly dying out. As a mother of two teen boys....they just want their license and they want to have a clean one.
