i asked a previous question about my little sister who is 12, she is sucking her thumb in her sleep. because i know her hands can carry many germs would it be a good idea to buy her like a pacifier? she could use it at night and put it away in the morning? this may be a really bad idea but i honestly just want to help her.
Leave her alone.... she is getting some comfort whilst she is sleeping and it hurts no one. I find it a bit hard that you would think a 12/13 year old girl wouldn't wash properly .... now if she was a brother I could go with the mucky unwashed hands. I am also a firm believer that ingestion of germs actually builds up immunity and is therefore good for you.
Not a good idea to give her a dummy at 12. Having just read your thread re adoption, she probably is going through a tough time, so just leave her be and
Give her plently support and let her know you love her unconditionally and very much.
i was just trying to see if this was a good idea, my previous question killed my concern of it being a major problem. but figured for hygiene problems this would be better.

yall realize im not trying to make things harder for her? i really am concerned for her and was trying to help her in anyway possible. i just wan the best for my little sister.
I think we got that but are offering advice to help you. Children survive all sorts of awful things particularly if they know they are loved and supported....spending time with and listening to your sister is brilliant ... she is not exhibiting worrying behaviours...I have known adults who suck their thumbs...
