Child Maintenance Help Please!!!

I'm so confused and upset! my ex and I have had a private agreement set up on 1st each month for maintenance but I had to apply to the csa last Thursday, they have told me he will have to pay from 12th August to the date in August he agrees to set a standing order up (say 1st) I told the csa he has already paid up until 1st September (he has to argue this and proove he has paid) therefore does this mean I will be without a full payment till 1st October??
any help as I'm pulling my hair out!
