My wife and I have been invited to her nephew's wedding in Scarborough at the end of the month.
Could any one suggest a suitable monetary gift as a wedding present please.
We are not paupers but then I am not Getty either :-) . Thanks for any reasonable suggestions.
it'll depend how close you are - or more important, how close your wife is - to the nephew in question. No harm in giving more to one you see a lot of and get on well with, less to someone you're not normally in contact with.
£250 sounds generous. £1000 sounds very generous indeed
I can't believe some of the amounts people can spare for gifts. I can only assume that a lot of regular ABers are quite wealthy. We had a spate of family weddings a few years back, including my son. He and wife put no gifts expected on their invite! The wedding cost next to nothing. Everybody had a great time!
£100- £1k depending on how close you are and how flush you are really is pretty normal I think for closish family. You can give them in cash in a pretty good way or just buy something which will look good as a wedding gift.
Gave my nephew £100 for his wedding that I couldnt attend coz of work and I didnt have to buy myself an outfit. Nephew & bride honeymooned in Maldives = win win ;)
